How it works
Solve math problems
Problems are generated with a target difficulty that adapts as your kid plays. There are 16 skill switches, from addition up to basic algebra. And we're always adding more!
Earn a video!
Reward videos are selected from YouTube videos you choose. Videos auto-play with no controls, and when the video ends, the math starts again.
You stay in control
You have a parent PIN code to control access to the settings page. You can adjust allowed skills, videos, the percentage of time spent on math, and the current difficulty. The progress page shows you your kid's history.
Skills-first learning.
Grade levels aren't the right way to target math learning. Plenty of kids, especially neurodivergent kids, don't learn all skills at the same pace. This game is designed to be adjusted to your kid.
Why this exists
My brother was just starting to learn math when I built him the first version of this game in 2013. We loaded it up with his favorite Sesame Street and Disney songs as the reward and he started out with just addition and subtraction. He. loved. it. We still sing some of those songs together :)
It's been more than a decade and 130,000 problems, and he's still playing.
The game has grown with him. Multiplication and division soon followed, then fractions, decimals, negatives, word problems, and algebra. Customized just for him. And now I've made it open to every family, for free. This learning game will adjust to your kid's changing needs just like it has for my brother.

Common questions
What ages is this for?
Roughly 5-13, but the game works with skills, not grades or ages. The skills you can enable run from simple addition up through fractions, decimals, negatives, percentages, multi-step problems, and starter algebra. The difficulty adapts automatically within the skills you've enabled.
My kid is autistic, has ADHD, or just learns differently. Will this work?
This game was built for exactly that. My brother's skills never matched a grade level and he thrives in routine. Nothing here assumes normative grade level math - every problem type is an independent switch. The gameplay is predictable and the rewards are consistent.
Is it really free?
Yes. This game started as a gift for my brother and it will stay free for families forever.
Are the videos safe?
The game only ever plays videos from playlists you add. Videos play with the controls blocked. When a video ends, the game returns to the math problems.
What do you collect about my kid?
Your parent account stores an email (for login) and gameplay events (problems answered, minutes worked and watched) that enable the difficulty adaptation and the progress page. We don't sell data or run analytics or ad trackers. Two third parties are involved: Auth0, which handles the log in, and YouTube, which plays the reward videos. Full details in the privacy policy.
